Mold on Deck surface

We have been asked by many people how to clean mold that forms on the surface of DreamDex and other lumber surfaces because of the combination of dirt and moisture. Although we can't speak for any other deckings, we have found that the deck cleaning product JoMax in the brown label bottle, when applied by squirting on the decking surface, COMPLETELY, cleans off any mold or mildew that has accumulated due to dust and moisture.

CapeCod weathered look

After hearing from many customers that the light greenish tint that accompanies our CapeCod Gray, after UV exposure, is a desirable characteristic, We have decided that we can't fight nature! We will supply both before and after samples to all of our customers so that the greenish tint will be able to be previewed. We have had several of the public actual ask for the " stuff with the Green tint" , so we are now going to keep it in our stable of colors.

Coffee

Some months back, we sent a sample of IPE, the Brazilian hardwood cut in the rain forest, to our color lab. Our intent was to produce a product very much resembling IPE without the problem of cutting the rainforest stock. With the DreamDex properties, we felt that a product resembling IPE, would be a win-win for all concerned as we would have created an actual "green" IPE without cutting the existing stock as we use only FSC certified , sustainable lumber, for our decking.

Cape Code Gray

We have discovered a special trait of our CapeCod color, when we put 30% less tint into the treatment. When exposed to high UV light, a slight tint of green will appear and give the decking a new look that is very pleasant , but unexpected! If you are looking for a gray colored deck , with a slight tint of green, then ask for our new Cape Cod color! We are just introducing this to market as we must expose enough samples for the actual final product to be displayed.

CapeCod components

After producing the CapeCod gray color in 5/4 x6 decking, we have been asked by several of our customers if we could produce the railing components in the same color. We are going to produce all of the railing components in both the CapeCod and the Sequoia color. The Sequoia components, including the 4x4, will all be in stock shortly. The CapeCod components are 3 weeks out from today.

Coffee

We have given the OK to the newest DreamDex color to be produced. That color is Coffee and will be coming out in about 2 months time.  We will produce only the 5/4x6 , both Clear and Classic , in the Coffee color.

DreamDex Clear and Classic 4/6/2010

We are in exciting times. I just returned from Portland , Oregon to view the treat of 100,000 board feet of clear and knotty Sequoia DreamDex. This batch will be done in 10 days with another 100,000 feet immediately following.

DreamDex coming

The next 150,000 of DreamDex both Classic ( knotty ) and Clear will be out the end of the month. From that time on , we are in continuous production. It has been a long wait, but the reward for waiting will be great! We will have both of the Sequoia and the CapeCod colors available. The railing components will be out the 3rd week of August in the Sequoia. We are waiting to get the final date on the Alabaster ( white) railing components for the CapeCod decking. Stay Tuned!!

DreamDex in the Islands

Our salesman in the Hawaiian Islands, Rob Bloom, has had a one foot wedge of DreamDex pounded into the ground for the last 4 months. Rob lives in the Kapalua region of Maui. The wedge has been completely immersed in wet earth. No insect damage at all has occurred.  This is very significant, as the Formosa termites in this area are famous for eating anything they get at, including pressure treated lumber! We visited several lumber yards on the island of Maui and had a very enthusiastic response to DreamDex.
